Russian seafarers managed to change at the port of Nakhodka

In port of Nakhodka the Russian crewmembers of the m/v Stolt Loyalty (IMO 9680114, flag of the Cayman Islands, built in 2017), owned by the Norwegian company Stolt Tanker B. V., successfully changed.  According to the Chairman of the Far Eastern regional organization of the Seafarers Union of Russia (DVRO SUR) Nikolay Sukhanov, it was the first time since the restrictive measures in connection with the coronavirus have been introduced.

«Despite the difficulties the shipowner managed to arrange a change of crewmembers in Nakhodka. Seven Russian seafarers  left the vessel. They have previously passed tests for coronavirus as well as  their relievers. Off signers will  be quaranteened for two weeks at home. And Stolt Loyalty, which came to Nakhodka from the American port of Freeport, after a short moorage and bunkering proceeded to South Korea”.

 There are 25 crewmembers on board the Stolt Loyalty, of which 18 are Filipinos. Stolt Tanker B. V. has a long-standing partnership with the Seafarers Union of Russia as the company  employs about 500 Russian seafarers. Last year the DVRO SUR and the Norwegian shipowner signed a collective agreement that will be valid until 2022. Among other things it provides for annual additional payments to seafarers for the length of continuous service on board the vessels of the Norwegian fleet in the amount of $100 and transfers to the company's pension fund, which the employee will be able to receive upon reaching the retirement age established by Russian law. The salary of a AB on board the company's vessels is $2 000, the captain's wage is about $14 thousand, and during the period of shore leave the senior officers receives from $500 to $1400 monthly.
