The seafarers of the vessel Odin were paid more than 668 thousand rubles

The employer, LLC Primportservice, paid the salary arrears to nine crewmembers of the refrigerator Odin (Russian flag, IMO 8320834) for a total of 668 thousand rubles, and also paid compensation for late payment to the seafarers. This happened after the Primorye transport Prosecutor's office intervened in the labor conflict after the employees applied for assistance. We will remind, in the interests of the ship's crewmembers, the transport Prosecutor appealed to the court with claims for recovery of wages and compensation from Primportservice LLC as the seafarers did not receive money from February to April 2020. The Frunzenskiy court of Vladivostok, having considered the case, satisfied the requirements in full. In addition, according to the Prosecutor's orders, the magistrate of the court district No. 20 of the Sovetskiy district of Vladivostok found the company and its head guilty of committing an administrative offense under part 7 of article 5.27 Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, e.g. non-payment of wages by a person who was previously subjected to administrative punishment for a similar offense. For repeated violations from the company’s side, the justice of the peace imposed a fine on the legal entity and disqualification for a period of 1 year and 6 months on the official. As previously noted by the Chairman of the primary trade union organization of seafarers in Vladivostok, Petr Osichanskiy, the vessel Odin is not the first time comes to the attention of the SUR.  Seafarers, who do not receive wages for service on board this ship, have been complaining about their employer for the past 10 years. Over many years of experience of dealing with the claims from the crews Odin, it has become obvious that real help can only be provided through the legal impact, so before you get a job on this vessel it is better to weigh all the pros and cons.
