Topaz will continue to cooperate with the SUR

Management of the Topaz Astrakhan has agreed to extend the collective agreement for 17 multi-purpose vessels engaged in the Tengiz Chevroil project.

The corresponding additional agreement was signed after the negotiations of the Chairman of the SUR Yuriy Sukhorukov and his deputy Igor Kovalchuk with Topaz Astrakhan top officials. During the meeting, the desire of both sides to continue cooperation after the completion of the project with Chevron was voiced. Denis Bondarenko, Chairman of the SUR primary trade union organization Topaz Astrakhan, told about the results of the negotiations. «The agreement will be valid until the end of the current project, while it is still unknown how long it will take to complete all the work. Because of this, the issue of preserving jobs is now very acute. » Topaz Astrakhan assures that the company is interested in retaining qualified personnel. «We have no plans to replace the staff, » Topaz’s management emphasizes.
