Working conditions on board the general cargo ship "Kreete" comply with the ITF collective bargaining agreement

Representatives of the Seafarers' Union of Russia (SUR) continue to visit vessels  in Russian ports. Inspectors of SUR Kaliningrad Territorial Organization visited  the general cargo ship "Kreete" (IMO 9279408, flag of Antigua and Barbuda), owned by the Estonian company Hansa Shipping,  Kaliningrad during its call to the port of Kaliningrad.

According to Lyudmila Izmalkova, SUR KTO Chairman, the vessel arrived at the port for loading. Some crew members have already worked on board the Kreete  four months provided  by their employment contracts, and now are awaiting their replacement.

“They will be replaced by seafarers from Kaliningrad,” - she noted.

A Russian-Ukrainian crew  consists of  7 seafarers. “We have given the hospitable crew  souvenirs and trade union press,” - Izmalkova  added.

It should be noted that the fleet of Hansa Shipping operates under the  International Transport Workers' Federation-approved collective bargaining agreement. Vessels of this Estonian shipping company often call at Kaliningrad, and, as it well known, the Baltic region is famous for its strong trade union movement, that's why it is almost impossible for vessels to operate in this region with violations. Thus, working conditions  on board the general cargo ship  "Kreete" comply with the ITF collective bargaining  agreement.
