Resurrecting the tradition of marine balls

Marine Technical Academy named after Admiral D.N. Senyavin hosted the First New Year's Marine Academy Ball, which brought together more than 60 participants. The solemn event was dedicated to the 260th anniversary of the birth of the great admiral, whose name the Academy proudly bears.

The guests of the event were greeted by the ball stewards, and the entire program of the ball evening was accompanied by charming presenters.

The cadets danced a polonaise, a waltz, and a country-dance for two hours. The ladies shone with their luxurious outfits, the gentlemen in white gloves and dress uniforms impressed with their courtesy and gallant manners!

Svetlana Prikhodchenko, a laureate of municipal and international competitions accompanied the ballroom evening with beautiful New Year's songs. The cadets played ballroom games, took part in various competitions: bouts-rimes, sea quiz and others. Models took part in a hat fashion show. By the end of the evening, nominees were chosen in different categories: “The most gallant gentleman”, “The most charming look of a lady”, “The most elegant look of a gentleman”, “Exquisite manners”, “Magnificent hairstyle”, “The most beautiful dress in the style of the era”, “Best dancing couple”. At the end of the event, the jury chose King and Queen of the ball. Their honourable duty will be the opening of the next ball! All participants of the festive program, nominees, and honoured guests were given New Year's gifts.

This evening was a wonderful end to the outgoing year and marked the beginning of a wonderful tradition - the arrangement of festive marine balls at the Academy.
