The Seafarers' Union of Russia assisted the crew of the MV Artemis
The crew members of the MV Artemis (flag of Gabon) applied to the Seafarers' Union of Russia for assistance as they had problems with food supply.
According to the crew, MV Artemis arrived at the port of Ust-Luga, but did not have time to cross the state border, as the weather conditions worsened. The seafarers had to wait for several days till a boat with representatives of the Coast Guard approached them. At that time, the crew became worried that the food on board could soon run out and turned to the Seafarers' Union of Russia for support.
During negotiations with the shipowner, it turned out that the seafarers' concerns were beforehand: according to the documents provided by the company, there was enough food on board, except for fresh vegetables and fruits. The vessel was staying at the roadstead for 4 days and cross the state border only on the fifth day, and only then a boat with needed provisions approached the MV Artemis.
The crew of the MV Artemis thanked the Seafarers' Union of Russia for their prompt response and assistance.
