FESCO and SUR signed a Collective Bargaining Agreement

Far Eastern Shipping Company and Seafarers' Union of Russia will continue their cooperation as the social partners signed a collective bargaining agreement for 2025–2027 on April 22 in Vladivostok. The document, which guarantees decent working conditions for Russian seafarers and shore personnel, was signed by FESCO HR Director Anton Pashkov and Chair of the SUR Primary Organization at PAO "FESCO" Valery Berezinsky.

— For many years, FESCO has been positioned as a socially oriented enterprise in the domestic and international maritime industry, which is confirmed by the existence of a collective bargaining agreement, — Berezinsky said at the signing ceremony. — The trade union organization still keeps a copy of the first collective bargaining agreement, which began to apply to seafarers in 1947. Over the many years of social partnership, we have learned to understand each other and strike compromises, make joint decisions and assume responsibility for them.

According to the Chair of the SUR Primary Organization at PAO "FESCO", the trade union and the employer encountered difficulties related to some procedural technicalities during the collective bargaining campaign, the compliance with Art. 37 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation "Procedures for collective bargaining", in particular.

As a result of joint actions, FESCO and SUR fulfilled the requirements provided by law. Thus, meetings of employees were held in the divisions of the shipping company branch, including meetings of the crews of 11 vessels. Also, the conference was held, and based on the results of which the SUR Primary Organization at PAO "FESCO" received authority to draft, negotiate and sign a collective bargaining agreement from 810 employees, including 610 seafarers, of the PAO FESCO branch.

During 2025-2027, the SUR Primary Organization at PAO "FESCO" will oversee the execution of the collective bargaining agreement, as well as participate in the adoption of local regulations containing labor law standards to advocate the interests of the company's workers.

We would like to add that another socially essential event took place on the eve of FESCO's 145th anniversary: a modern office of the shipping company's Crewing Department was opened after a total renovation. It will become a high-tech unified communication space for interaction between seafarers and office staff.

The SUR adds: joining the FESCO team is not just an opportunity to find employment at a modern enterprise, but also to receive guarantees for decent employment and life.
